Reset
firefox preferences to troubleshoot and fix problems
Method 1: Refresh Firefox
- Click the menu button and then click Help.
- Please select the
troubleshooting information from the Help menu
- Click the Refresh
Firefox button in the top-right corner of the troubleshooting notice page.
- To continue, click
Refresh Firefox in the confirmation window that opens
- Once the firefox will
end to refresh, a window will list your imported information. Click on the
finish and Firefox will open.
Method 2: Delete Firefox preference files
1. Click on the menu button, click Help and select the troubleshooting information. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open
2. Under the Basic section of the app, click on Open Folder. A window will open with your profile files.
3. Click the menu button, and then click Exit
4. Locate and delete the file prefs.js (or to rename the old name as a backup, for example, rename it to prefs.jsOLD). If you find more than one, a prefs.js.moztmp file or user.js file, then delete them (or rename).
5. You can close the profile folder and open Firefox.
